Getting a doctoral degree is a great concern for all those who are interested in academic progress. This challenging task can be successfully carried out by following five steps given below:
1. EVOLVING AND SHARPENING OF THE PROBLEM:
The prevailing problem or concern on which a research is required can be identified by reading relevant resources viz. periodicals, e-journals, academic monographs, research papers and also by consulting the experts from your chosen field. In this way, you can evolve, modify, sharpen, and finalise the problem.
2. DESIGNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF RESEARCH FRAMEWORK:
The chosen problem has to be well defined in regard to context and must be substantiated quoting the need for a new research. Moreover, constructs and concepts have to be explored and deducted. The essential framework and design of the research must be properly outlined. In addition to this, hypothesising the paradigms and clarity over perspectives must be well detailed and sketched accordingly.
3. METHODOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK:
The methodological framework includes all possible or admissible methods i. e study units and universe, sampling and participants, research instruments, software requirements, and statistical concerns or coding-decoding plans of transcripts.
Researcher has to describe the results obtained (following a plan of analysis) based on the objectives and/or hypotheses. Structuring the analysed data and its meaningful presentation, and interpretation of results are the core concerns. The results shall also be discussed extensively.
Summary of the study and its implications if any as well as suggestions based upon the conclusions have to be highlighted. At last, considering the nature of the output, it has to be reported by following the desired manuals of reference like APA, MLA, Chicago Manual, etc.
