ENTRY INTO INDIA:
The company recently announced its entry into the Indian market. They have teamed up with investment firm Hunch ventures and are expected to operate their maiden route between Mumbai and Pune from March 2019. Former Air Asia CEO Amar Arbol was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of FlyBalde India.
Abrol pointed out that there is a dearth in intra-state and city connectivity where commuting consumes a lot of time. FlyBlade India, as per him, intends to cash in on the existing opportunity by cutting travel time significantly.
He also dismissed concerns of entry into a price-sensitive market like India where oil price fluctuation and rupee depreciation results in inflated fuel bills that makes aviation a risky business.
He states that this is the right time for an entry as the concept is unique. The company will utilise the existing heliport infrastructure in the country to launch an Urban Air Mobility Programme (UAMP).
The users can significantly cut their travel time from Mumbai to Pune to just 35 minutes from the earlier three and a half hours.
