FLYING FISHES: UTAH’S SMART WAY TO ENERGISE TOURISM
The Western U.S state of Utah is famous for high altitude hiking zones. The state is endowed with a diverse geographical terrain including the Rocky Mountains and the Colorado Plateau.
A number of lakes in the small mountain ranges of the western rugged terrain are famous for hiking. The hikers engage in leisure fishing. But because of human interference, the resources have rapidly declined in the lakes.
So, the Utah division of Wildlife Resources have come up with an idea to revive the fish population. The idea was to airdrop tonnes of fishes into these lakes and consequently arrest the dwindling population.
Although basically the reduction of fish population is due to human interference, the division had come up with this idea in order to encourage and promote the tourism potential of the region.
The video had since gone viral and crossed a million mark.
